Walker’s strong performance began with a blistering first run, setting the second-fastest push time and a new track record of 54.01 seconds, finishing just ahead of the Canadian athlete Cynthia Appiah. In her final run, despite slowing track conditions, Bree maintained her lead with a combined time of 1:48.51, taking home the gold.
These impressive victories brought Bree’s tally to three World Cup monobob golds and 13 career podium finishes. Her consistent performance throughout the season earned this 2022 Olympian a second-place overall IBSF Monobob World Cup ranking with 1596 points, following Lisa Buckwitz, who finished with 1637 points.
The Bobsleigh Pilot from Australia
Bree’s journey to the top of the bobsleigh world is nothing short of remarkable. Hailing from Cairns, Australia -where snow and bobsleigh track are non-existent — Bree started her journey training in a parking lot before making history on the world stage. Unlike most of the athletes, who come from winter sports powerhouses with access to ice tracks year-round, Bree has defied the odds to challenge and defeat the world’s best.

Couldn’t have asked to finish the World Cup season in a better way. Two golds to secure my second 2nd overall crystal globe was very satisfying and motivating heading into World championship in the next two weeks. Couldn’t have done it without the support of Respax. We work off a very low budget compared to the other bigger nations so to have support from home means we can keep pushing for the podium! Means the absolute world. – Bree Walker, Australian Bobsleigh Pilot
At ResPax, we couldn’t be prouder to support Bree and her continued success. Her dedication, skill, and resilience embody the very spirit of excellence we admire and support. We eagerly look forward to her next challenge at the World Championships in Lake Placid.
